November Can Release
Winter is coming, and we wanted to warm you up with a BIG beer, so we called our friends at District 96 to come down to Jersey for a very special collab. Johnny being the person he is, did not hesitate. But he said something that really made us think. Even though D96 operates out of NY, Johnny suggested calling attention to these crazy rules that hurt so many small breweries in NJ because of our ridiculous laws. So, we brewed a Triple IPA juice-bomb that we plan on donating $1 of every draft beer sold at AE to our NJ Brewers Guild, who lobby on behalf of breweries in NJ. Cans will be limited as we want to maximize draft sales in house. More about the beer below. We love you District!

What do you get when you max out an oversized mashtun and add Hopsteiner’s incredible hop Salvo to the boil that contributes practically no bitterness, and then dry hop with Crosby’s CGX concentrated hops? You get our second version of Alt End’s collab with District 96, Well of Souls: Staff of Ra. This 10% Triple IPA was dry hopped with El Dorado CGX, Citra and Simcoe. It’s big, juicy, and beautiful with notes of pineapple and orange.

What happens when you take an already beautiful beer, and replace the malt with organic malt, the yeast with organic yeast, the horizontal stainless steel tank with a horizontal oak foeder, and condition it with Krausen? You get a really, really special beer; Willy’s Gold. Even better, our can design pays homage to the oldest brewery in the world while also embracing Willy himself! Big shoutout to @lisahanley and @boyburnsbarn for making this label come to life.

Wrap your lips around this Oktoberfest, which pays tribute to perhaps the best beer movie in history, Strange Brew. We brewed this single-decoction beer back in July and let it lager for 12 weeks! The result is a beautifully complex traditional lager with notes of caramel malt and bread crust, and signifies the changing of seasons. Take off, eh!

Pac Sun, coming to you all the way from New Zealand via our incredible partners @crosbyhops is described by Crosby as lemon and clementine, backed up by melon and mango. When you combine that with our single-hop grain bill and huge whirlpool/dry-hop additions, you get Juicy Fruit gum, berry fruit cocktail and a hint of lemon-lime. Gandalf, put that in your pipe and smoked it!

As many of you know, the real life Dude designed our brewing system along with Boy Wonder at Specific Mechanical to allow us to do decoction brewing, which is so rare these days. We are able to move our grain from kettle to mash tun and back, boiling ⅓ of the grain to capture additional flavor, color and aroma. It’s a time-consuming process but well worth it as this spectacular beer accentuates a toastiness that wouldn't be found without it. The Mittelfrüh & Tradition hops provide floral notes with a soft bitterness in this extremely delicate Pilsner. The dude abides.

We are excited to can and release Why Not?!, our flagship pale ale, for the very first time. We designed this beer to be the little sister to What If? We wanted a juicy pale ale that was absolutely crushable coming in at 5%, but still has a great mouthfeel and packs a nice hop punch. We combined Pac Sun (our favorite hop) with El Dorado to create this tropical fruit cup hop character that is the perfect everyday pale ale.

What If we brewed an everyday hazy IPA that you just knew was your “go-to” beer? Mr. Reliable in a can! What If it was also clean and balanced? We’ve been contemplating what our flagship IPA recipe should taste like since the time Alternate Ending was nothing more than an idea on the back of a napkin. We knew we wanted something that was crushable, yet also remain true to a traditional IPA with notes of pine and citrus. What If, What If? was really YOUR favorite Alternate Ending?
