Our story

Beer Broadcast was founded in December of 2019 by two friends, John and Colin, looking to level the playing field for craft beer makers and enthusiasts. Tired of getting emails and notifications too late, rushing over to breweries, standing in long lines and finally missing out on new releases time and time again, they decided to solve the problem once and for all.

With a focus on making it as easy as possible to score hard-to-get beer releases online, the guys started working on a prototype with the help of one of their favorite local breweries who were prepared to be their beta testers. Within two weeks, Beer Broadcast had it’s first release led by Source Farmhouse Brewery.

Fast-forward to March of 2020 and...well, we all know what happens next. Covid-19 was becoming a global pandemic and businesses – especially service industry businesses like breweries – were being threatend by shutdowns. Closing doors meant revenue would be significantly limited if not entirely gone. Naturally, many businesses turned to online solutions to continue reaching their customers and selling their products.

Beer Broadcast saw an opportunity to support the breweries they were already building an online service for and pivoted towards not only making beer releases better, but the entire ecosystem around them. With people stuck at home due to Covid-19, delivery became a necessity for many breweries looking to get their beer in the hands of their customers. Beer Broadcast quickly built in logistics, routing and payment features for local delivery, turning small businesses into self-distributors over night.

Other services like online payments and contactless pickup with QR codes were already part of the Beer Broadcast platform, but significant improvements were made to ensure the safety of the staff and customers using the service.
