A VERY SPECIAL BEER!
We're hoping to sell out of this delicious IPA as fast as we can, because net proceeds will benefit @melesaswings, a charity that is near and dear to our hearts, not only because it was founded by one of the best people we know, @yankeerunner77, but also because it benefits multiple cancer foundations.
This beer was brewed in memory of Lawrence Meadows. If Lawrence knew he had a beer made in his honor, he’d crack some joke that would have us all crying with laughter. That was Lawrence. A man of faith, who never drank. But even while battling colon cancer he was joking, lifting the spirits of everyone who had come to comfort him. He would laugh with you. And, as a pastor, he’d pray with you too. A beloved father, husband, brother and son. He is dearly missed. But when you drink this beer, do it with a smile. You’re in on the joke, told by a man who brought love and laughter everywhere he went.
Starting with just a basic malt bill and a few hop options, this very special IPA was brewed on the fly with our new friend @craigmelvinnbc and the extraordinary @todayshow film crew.
With a beer like this, because of the person we brewed it for, Lawrence, and the charity it will support, @melesaswings, we wanted the beer to take on the identity of the moment we were in, which felt both genuine and surreal. While it’s hard to capture emotions in a beer, having Craig go through the process of brewing with us and actually choosing the hops we used in the beer moments before we pitched them in the boil made this experience unique and representative of Craig’s sensory in that moment.
The result is a straw colored, juicy IPA full of berries and pear. Big thank you to @danholway and @jaredcraw for making this special experience for such an incredible cause happen.
